Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Nottingham
Former Software Engineer Intern at Argus Media

About me
I am a Computer Science student at the University of Nottingham who recently completed a placement year in the technology team at Argus Media. My areas of special interest are Artificial Intelligence, Software Development and Data Science.
Whilst working at Argus Media I successfully completed projects involving Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Authentication and Mobile Applications. A highlight of my experience was creating a generative AI market dashboard which I demonstrated to leadership and cross-functional teams. I really enjoyed working within the team and learning how quality software is produced in industry.
I also enjoy developing personal projects and documenting them on my personal blog. I find it especially rewarding to utilise my technical skills to solve problems that I encounter in my daily life. For example, I used optimisation techniques to create an AI darts player, with customisable difficulties, which users could play against. I also experimented with visualising the reinforcement learning process to solve a Rubik’s cube. Having worked at Argus Media, a commodity pricing company, I have developed an interest in financial pricing and modelling. This led me to develop a visualiser for options prices using the Black-Scholes Model. This is a link to my personal blog: bit.ly/KitoTheron-Portfolio
I am excited to start the final year of my degree in September. I have always displayed strong academic performance and achieved especially high marks in COMP2006 C++ Programming (94%) and COMP2054 Algorithms Data Structures and Efficiency (87%). Next year I am looking forward to completing modules in Machine Learning, Designing Intelligent Agents and Computer Vision.
